When I heard this idea I was immediately struck with the idea that this could make a great theme for Wrote By Rote. After all, love in all its various forms and incarnations has to do with our lives. We all have loved many in many ways. We have our families, friends, and others with whom we feel a close bond that might be considered love in various ways.
My April posts will not necessarily be about romantic love, though this will certainly be a part of the story. Our lives have many loves, including people, pets, places, and things. Where will the alphabet lead me in my story of love? Stay tuned for the "Words of Love". They are many and spoken in many voices.
The Challenge starts on Monday April 1st. I hope you will join me.
What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you think of the word "love"? Do you believe in love at first sight? Is love truly blind?
Looking forward to this.
ReplyDeleteHugs and chocolate,

look forward to you posts!

What a fantastic theme. Can't wait to see what you come up with for each letter.
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Looking forward to reading your posts! The first thing that comes to my mind is my fiance'. Love at first site? Yes, I think so. He loved me from afar since I was 14, and I started falling in love w/ him when I got his Facebook friend request, which I didn't understand b/c he & I weren't even that close in school, but getting his request had me all in a tizzy that he remembered me.
ReplyDeleteI'll join the chorus on this, Lee - I am curious about your posts and look forward to them. I imagine there will be food for thought.
ReplyDeleteI believe in attraction at first sight but not love. Love takes time. Whether love is blind or not would require definitions/ clarifications - am i right in sensing that there might be a post forthcoming on this one? I hope so.
The first thought that came to mind for me with love was not eros but rather philos - friendship. Connections - erotic, familial, friendships - i go for the broad picture of love.
Love~first thing~my parents.~Mary
ReplyDeleteLove is the most important quality in life, but we use the word indiscriminately. I love Clarks shoes. I love Twizzlers. I love "Downton Abbey." I love my husband and children.
ReplyDeleteIt'll be interesting to see if there really is a synonym for each letter.
It will be interesting to see what you do with this topic, Lee. We expect only the best. . .
ReplyDeleteWill look forward to this Lee.
ReplyDeleteHappy, peaceful Easter.
Yvonne.
I believe love only takes on so many forms, degrees and shades because none of us is capable of truly loving, none but One. All we can hope to do is to get a small sliver of it right at any moment. And that sliver is just a slice to wet our appetites and have us craving and striving for more. A hunger that won't be filled completely this side of Heaven.
ReplyDeleteShelly, Laura, and Dawn -- Thanks for stopping and hope you will visit often.
ReplyDeleteJoJo --Sweet story. Guess we're sometimes surprised by who's watching from afar.
Gracie -- Many of my posts will be closer to the love found in friendships since often those are more long-lasting and complex.
Mary -- Your parents are hopefully the first people you love in life and the ones you love for your whole life.
Wendy -- My words may not all be synonyms, but they will have a love connection.
DG --I hope I can keep up okay. Right now I'm so tired and haven't even come up with a first post.
Yvonne -- Happy Easter to you too, Yvonne!
Barbara -- Wow! I wish I'd said that. You expressed the love concept very beautifully.
Lee

ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful theme. When I think of love I think of our whole heart and soul.
ReplyDeleteHi Lee - such a great idea from Nicole .. I'll be catching you on the A-Z .. cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteAn interesting, and perhaps challenging theme. I think of kindness, care, integrity, honesty, commitment and acceptance of the other.
ReplyDeleteLove makes the world go around! Fabulous theme for the challenge. I'm making my 1st attempt at the challenge and have no clue what I'm doing. LOL. I barely have time to think up a topic, then write it and by which time the day is over! Its like I'm chained to my computer all day/make that all night as well of late. Unable to make the time to blog hop, which is what everyone seems to be doing rather successfully and helps them get traffic back to their own blog and up their comments. I have figured it out in my head (I think) but I don't find much comments on my blog despite posting on the FB page. Am trying to follow the tips suggested. I made it through this week A-F and that itself is a huge hallelujah moment for me!!! Murphy's Law however loves me -- just heard today that new fibre optic cables will be laid between the 10th of April until the end of the month, which means internet will be cut off!!! Sure need all the luck and good wishes! Thanks for reading this rant/post of a comment!!
