A to Z Theme 2016

For my 2016 A to Z theme I used a meme that I ran across on the blog of Bridget Straub who first saw it on the blog of Paula Acton. This meme is a natural for me to use on my memoir blog. It's an A to Z concept and it's about me. No research and nothing complicated. I'm given twenty six questions or topics to discuss that are about me.

In April I kept my posts short and uncomplicated. In the midst of it all you might learn a few things about me that you didn't previously know.

Education (Elements of Memoir) #AtoZChallenge

School days can provide so much material for memoir.  Most of us spend 12 to 16 years or more in school.  Those who become teachers or work in school-related occupations might even spend their entire careers in schools.   The educational years involving college life, high school days, and earlier times in the system can provide volumes of material for fun and interesting stories.

These stories can involve victories as well as defeats.   Stories of being bullied as well as being the bully.   There are stories about inspiring teachers or the fellow students who where our friends.  The cast of characters in our educational life is huge and the stories are varied.

Some of you may have attended a small school or even a one room school house.  This can be a unique experience to relate to those of us who went to larger schools.   Those of you who attended larger schools might have a grander story to tell.  School stories like any life stories can be highly focused or might provide a bigger picture in which you were a small player.

The stories that involve our education can be dramatic, tragic, funny, or motivating.  We can entertain with these stories or we can provide an education about education.   The years that we attend school can be amazing years or they can be bittersweet years tinged with regrets.  Take advantage of revisiting your school days to remember the stories you have within you.

Were your school days difficult?  Do you have pleasant memories of school?    If you could go back to any of your years in school which would you most want to relive?
