A to Z Theme 2016

For my 2016 A to Z theme I used a meme that I ran across on the blog of Bridget Straub who first saw it on the blog of Paula Acton. This meme is a natural for me to use on my memoir blog. It's an A to Z concept and it's about me. No research and nothing complicated. I'm given twenty six questions or topics to discuss that are about me.

In April I kept my posts short and uncomplicated. In the midst of it all you might learn a few things about me that you didn't previously know.

D-Drink you last had: (#atozchallenge)

D-Drink you last had:

If someone asked me what was the last drink I had, I suppose context would be a major factor in how I would answer that question.  Maybe the conversation would be in reference to alcohol.  It would probably matter a lot on who asked and why they asked.

Just supposing that the subject was alcohol, then no matter what else I had been drinking say like at the moment that I write this, I might be talking about any time, even some time in the distant past.  Let's say that this specific question being addressed in this post was about alcohol then I'd say that I guess it was last week when I had a glass of honey infused Jim Beam on ice.  I'll have something like this every once in a while, but not too often.

Thinking about the last liquid though, it would be the water I took my nighttime pills with.  Earlier I had a glass of milk after dinner.  Officially those would be the last liquids I drank.

So in answer to the question of the letter "D", it depends on who is asking the question and why the information is needed.    Maybe that's a weird answer, but then maybe it's a weird thing for anyone to want to know.

Do you drink eight glasses of water per day?  What do you drink too much of?   What drink should you take out of your diet?

  1. I tried that 8 glasses of water thing and although people told me that I'd get used to it, running to the bathroom every 15 minutes was extremely disruptive so I stopped. I drink Crystal Lite ice tea despite everyone telling me that aspartame is going to kill me.

    1. JoJo, 8 glasses per day can be difficult. I avoid the aspartame as much as I can, but not because it will kill me. I consume plenty of other things already that are going to kill me.

  2. Ha, I'm drinking coffee as I type this. Water is my favorite drink. Coffee is second. Not carrot juice which is what my post is about today.

    1. Teresa, if it were morning I'd be drinking coffee too. Right now my last drink was milk other than the sips of water I took to down some pills. Carrot juice is something I've not acquired a taste for.

  3. I'm a big unsweetened tea fan along with a pint sized cup of coffee every morning. I should drink water more than I do. But I don't drink alcohol. I was afraid of alcoholism when I was younger and later I just decided I didn't need it. Give me a big piece of chocolate cake.

    1. Ann, in the mornings I drink 2 or 3 cups of coffee. I only drink iced tea when I go to a restaurant. I've never had a problem about alcohol but I can't say the same for chocolate cake and other such things. I'm bad when it comes to sweets.

  4. It would be weird unless it was your doctor or a nutritionist trying to determine if what you drank is causing a problem. . . Coffee would be my answer, and if it was alcohol, white wine would be the answer. French wine. Through the day, I constantly drink water, it's a habit I grew up with in hot, muggy Georgia.

    1. DG, I guess someone who has my health as a concern would be justified in asking what I had last drank. Really it depends on the time of day what my last drink would have been.

    1. CW, I used to prefer Pepsi, but now I prefer Coke. I have no idea why my tastes changed that way.

    1. Jeff, never beer for breakfast for me. Not yet at least. However I've had mimosas and coffee with Kahlua though not at the same sitting.

    1. Bridget, After I saw your post I just knew this was what I had to do for A to Z. I could have made the posts longer if I'd wanted to.

  8. I try to drink a lot of water, but I know I never get enough of it. I would say I sometimes drink too much coffee, which also happens to be the last drink I had.

    1. Elizabeth, a lot of us probably intend on drinking more water than we do. If it weren't for downing pills with water I might forget to drink it a lot of the time.

  9. I only drink about 12-24oz of water a day. I have coffee in the mornings, sodas in the evening and often end the day with a rum and coke. Milk often times with my supper. Give up, oh, probably the soda, but I doubt if I will.

  10. I keep trying to drink those 8 glasses of water, but never make it that far. Best I usually do is 6. Other liquids count, too, except those with caffeine or alcohol. Oh well, so much for that! ☺

    1. Debbie, I'm not sure I even make it to six glasses of water. Don't drink too much of other drinks either these days.

  11. I drink some water but I am a Coke person. Seems no matter what I drink if it isn't Coke I am not happy.

    1. Patricia, I usually drink a coke or something similar every day, but nowhere near as much as I used to.
